Grumble , Rant, $%$@$@% ......,

The joys of owning an older British sports car include the fact that they are low slung. That also means that there is about 3 1/2 inches of ground clearance instead of the customary six.
The lowest part is the muffler .....
We have crosswalks in the street near my office.
The rent a guards have a new toy - portable rubber speed bumps.
They are black, with yellow stripes.
It's a public thorofare - they are supposed to take them in at night.

Today they didn't

.... and at 9:00 PM, I didn't see it till it was too late. - Hit it at roughly 25 mph. Separated the muffler from the header and dropped it to the street. I got it stopped, got out the vise grips and undid the rear clamp. The top came down and the pipe/muffler went into the passengers side. It was very chilly and very loud going home.
.... and at 11:00 PM at night I was reassembling the thing in the driveway with most of the tools that I needed up at the house another 13 miles away. I am a very tired very unhappy camper at the moment.

..... and, tomorrow morning, there will be a VERY UNHAPPY PERSON in facilities listening to what I have to say. It should not have been there and the guard was just too lazy to remove it.
