My employer is required by statue to record and retain for five years alll written communication from it's employees to the outside world. To do this we have been instructed to only use firm e-mail and I've been doing so since the word came down from on high. However, to control it so that they can be sure that there's no violation, they've installed smart software blocking filter's on the web access servers. The first to go were the instant messaging programs and right behind that went Hotmail and other forms of webmail. Chat rooms followed. For the last six months I've been able to read LJ and voluntarilly did not comment while on-site. This morning when I attempted to log on I received a great big

What this means for me is that between roughly the hours of 7:30 AM and 7:30 PM I will have no access to LJ..... [:<
I can't say that I like it, but I do understand it. I choose to eat at their table and that means that I have to follow their rules. Now of course if they would improve their technology so that they could record instead of block.... That will probably happen right after I hit the right six numbers in the lottery.
