I Was Experimenting in the Kitchen.....,

You will either love it or hate it, but the tastes go together.

A staple item in this household for many years has been candied orange peel. You start with ordinary peel, cut it into narrow strips, and rinse several times. Then add approximatly one cup of peel amd one cup of sugar to a one qt saucepan, cover with water and let it simmer for a while. When done, spread it on paper towels and allow it to air dry.

All of that is prelude.
This evening I started with chocolate chip mint ice cream. I almost filled an eight oz cup and microwaved it to soften it a bit [25 seconds in mine.]
This then went into a tall glass and equal parts of milk and ginger ale were added to almost fill it. Then I added about a tablespoon of the orange peel that I'd chopped into small squares. Finally an oz of B&B was added.

I'm not a bar tender, I may have just reinvented something that's been out there for years with a name. I do know that the tartness of the peel works well with the chocolate and brandy and that the ice cream makes the whole of it very smooth.

... and I just might go make another.
