Hit the road late on the way to work, Running about as flat out as traffic and my license would allow. The DJ starts with Eagles - Life in the Fast Lane. Goes to ZZ Top - La Grange. Follows with The Guess Who - American Woman. ..... and ends with Pink Floyd - The Machine, as I pull into the lot. What a nice "wake-up" set, and yes, I like "classic rock."

I'm sitting up late tonight, playing catch up. The nice delivery men from Sears came today with the new washer. The third load made it into the dryer. I am truly amazed how much laundry can accumulate in a week's time. [Normally we do it on the fly, every second or third day.] The bath towels happened first. Trying to dry off with a hand towel in the morning was definitely slowing down the get out the door process. ... and some "where did THAT come from?" stuff was starting to make it's way out of the back of the drawers and closets. I figure if we run straight through, we should get caught up in about a day. The limiting factor is the dryer, which takes longer - and has decided to start squeaking. .... and noooo, I'm not joking, it's squeaking ! ! You can't win, just hope to hold your own

Short thought.

Every man likes to think that they are the world's greatest lover, and the world's greatest driver. Now, with roughly three billion men on this planet, I'm humble enough to realize that, somewhere, there may be one that drives better then I.

Two Quick Thoughts - Unrelated.

A sense of style.
A set of standards.
The honesty to adhere to them,
.... and the humility to know that we don't always.

When I was young, the custom was that beer was drunk from a glass. From there we went to wide mouths and chug-a mugs. Lately I had been vaguely aware that long necks were in. All of this was somewhere on my list of things to grok, but I hadn't quite gotten around to it.

As I left work the other night, I passed a sidewalk bar. A long legged blond with short hair and a shorter skirt was sitting, talking, on a stool.
As I watched her raise a bottle to her lips, I understood in full.

Not all communication is verbal.
