New Jersey, Where Only the Stronget Survive ...,

Just when we thought they'd about run out of tricks on how to muck up our commuting, we got a new one this afternoon. At roughly 3:00 PM, a plane put down in the middle of the east bound express lanes on I-80 approximately six miles before the George Washington Bridge.

Pilot and plane were relatively unscathed. They brought out a flatbed auto retriever and had it out of there in slightly over an hour. [Our traffic people have lots of experience clearing things.] The highway at this point is ten lanes wide and this occurred within two miles of its junction with the NJ Turnpike.

I was home at my normal time.
